We were invited to design and build a custom set for the Nautilicious stage at Shindig Festival in May 2025. The hand-painted waves and quirky characters stretched across an impressive 20-metre-wide stage, bringing a submerged surreal surrounding to the festival.

Inspired by a fascination with automata, we made the characters bob and dance among the waves using a clever mix of upcycled milk churn motors and a pillar drill — bringing these wonky little creatures to life… well, a little bit!

Festival-goers couldn’t get enough of the merry, strange underwater critters, adding an extra dose of delight to the party
