‘World of children’

set design & build

Welcome 0ne

and all!!

We were over the moon to be asked to design and build an enormous, joy-filled ‘World of Children’ Welcome Arch for the legendary WOMAD Festival — inviting tiny revellers and their grown-ups into a world of colour, creativity, music and mischief!

Our mission was to create something bold, colourful and utterly enchanting; a spectacular gateway that captured the vibrant, playful spirit of the ‘World of Children’ and made the journey in feel like an adventure in itself.

And what better way to welcome the little ones than with a bluebird getting down on the djembe and a mysterious musical moggy hiding amongst a riot of colourful cacti and fluorescent flowers?!

Packed with quirky characters, psychedelic pops of colour and plenty of musical magic, the arch was designed to spark curiosity, imagination and inclusivity?”

We had an absolute blast bringing this wonderfully bonkers world to life — and seeing it welcome a whole festival of tiny explorers was the icing on the cake!

“Wow, that looks weird.”
