St George's Marketing Illustrations

Creating artwork for this Grade II listed Georgian church was a fun challenge! We designed vibrant, eye-catching banners to fit between the grand columns, bringing a fresh, contemporary energy to the space.

The animals in the artwork aren’t just decorations — they’re making their own music, playing with funnels, trumpets, and quirky listening devices. Inspired by the transformation of sound waves into vibrations and neurological signals, the tunnels and portals in the designs suggest being physically moved and transformed by incredible music.

Drawn in layers, the characters and instruments could be remixed across banners, brochures, and marketing materials, giving St George’s a playful, immersive identity that dances with sound and imagination.

“Alex’s beautiful artwork has been adding colour and joy to our building since the minute it was installed. Our team loved working with Alex on the artwork brief, for mural-style banners to bring the façade of our Grade II* listed building to life – from our team’s stories, workshops and site visits, Alex drew inspiration from the music that happens in our venue and the wildlife that lives in our grounds. Our concert audiences can’t help but smile (and stop to snap a picture) as they walk up our front steps to be greeted by playful foxes, squirrels, bats and insects dancing to the music!”
